Medical & Surgical Clinic of Irving is pleased to announce that Whitney Chouteau, DO, Pain Management Physician has joined the practice. Dr. Chouteau specializes in pain management including nerve blocks throughout the body, Lumbar Discography, Carpal Tunnel injections, and narcotic management. Her focus will be to help patients recover after injuries, improve overall health, and reduce or eliminate pain. Dr. Chouteau’s pain management specialty will integrate seamlessly with the Physical Medicine program at the Irving, TX clinic, which creates customized treatment plans for patients suffering from a wide variety of non-surgical, musculoskeletal conditions including (but not limited to) osteoarthritis, degenerative disc disease, rotator cuff tears, plantar fasciitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, bursitis, tendonitis, joint pains, sprains, lower back pain, and more.

Dr. Chouteau attended the University of Texas at Austin for her undergraduate studies and went on to earn her degree in Osteopathy at the Kansas City University of Medical and Biosciences. She moved to Texas for her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, along with a fellowship in Interventional Pain Management there as well. During her time at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dr. Chouteau served as Academic Chief Resident and received multiple awards for her work in rehabilitation, such as Best Research Award and Best Resident Research Presentation.

Dr. Chouteau has been featured in multiple presentations and abstracts, in collaboration with other physicians, throughout her career and is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She is a member of the North American Spine Society, the International Spinal Injection Society, the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and the Dallas/Fort Worth PM&R Society.

Dr. Chouteau has been practicing pain management in Las Colinas for her patients through nerve blocks, joint injections, carpal tunnel injections and narcotic management. Dr. Chouteau is now accepting new patients at the Medical & Surgical Clinic of Irving office located in the Professional Building at Las Colinas Medical Center.
